Kathryn Letson er en designer fra Hawaii som etter 23 år i motebransjen ønsket å drive med noe mer meningsfylt. Hun ønsket å drive rettferdig handel og satse på produkter laget for hånd ved bruk av hundreår gamle teknikker.
Hun etablerte "By The Sea Organics" i 2007 , som er et zero waste merke med fokus på nydelige og behagelige plagg og produkter laget med kjærlighet og omsorg for natur og miljø.
Produktene er laget kun i små partier og de kommer fra små familiebedrifter som holder gamle tradisjoner og teknikker i live.
Zero Waste har fokus på gjenbruk og null avfall og alle produktene er laget med omhu og kjærlighet.
